Welcome to Croatian online lessons.
How can I help?
Croatian online lessons offers lessons for beginner, intermediate and advanced learners. You’ve come to a perfect place if you want to learn and be able to use basic Croatian phrases and words and put them into practice with locals when travelling. We all love when tourists go that extra mile and make an effort to say ‘Thank you’, How are you?’, ‘I’d like…’, etc. Five to ten 30-min lessons will get you all set and ready to go, and you’ll be able to impress the locals with your Croatian skills!
If you are looking to practice speaking Croatian or brush up on your Croatian skills, take dust of some grammar rules and vocabulary that you used long time before but are now long forgotten, do get in touch and let’s organize the perfect lessons for you.
I believe that we learn a new language best when we are not trying too hard. Kids learn the language by listening to it and without trying too much, so why couldn’t we try and do the same thing?
In this blog I’m bringing you listening and reading materials that you can use in your free time. All the texts include an audio so you can follow the texts and practice pronunciation. The more times you go through the text, the likelier it is that the words will stick and that you will start using them eventually. Listening and reading materials will help you improve your vocabulary, pronunciation and the best thing is – you can do this from the comfort of your home or when you are commuting to work.
So stick for a while, download the materials and enjoy!
Here are a few articles that suppport the importance of reading and listening. Check them out!
And a few suggestion that I believe really make a difference in the language learning, especially when using the self-study materials.
Create a habit.
Try to listen and read Croatian for 30 minutes every day. It’s normally the little things that make all the difference.
What you can also do is to shadow the speaker. That will help you sound more like a native because you’ll imitate the stress and pronunciation.
Listening and reading on its own can help immensely with your Croatian skills but you need to be present. Don’t do other things while you are listening to the texts. Have a written text in front of you and focus on the pronunciation and stress. Shadow and repeat. Google the words or check with other students who are learning Croatian. Nowadays, there are so many helpful resources and language groups online that help along the way.
